We just installed a IP Office v9.1 and replaced a old Att Definity system. What I am wanting to do is, based on the area code dialed, dial out a specific line. I am in area code 270 and want any calls made to area code 317 to go out one of our 50 (317) 614-XXXX numbers on our new PRI line. I was told it is possible but in all my searching I haven't been able to locate a example. Coming from a old Definity system, I'm not sure what its called or where to look. Thanks in advance.

You would create this in the ARS tables. You can use 317-xxx-xxxx as the code and then point it to the line group for the PRI you want.

The short code will get me the dialed out area code detection right? How/where do I specify which lines to use to actually dial out on? Not all of the #s on our PRI have 317 area codes. Only 50 do. Again I apologize for my newness if this is something I am missing.

It sounds like you want calls to the 317 area code to show a specific outbound caller ID, not really go out a certain line. Outbound calls on a PRI don't work like that. You will still accomplish it as teletechman said, by using the ARS table, but instead make it 317XXXXXXXsYYYYYYYYYY. Where YYYYYYYYYY is the telephone number that you want the caller ID to show. IE 317XXXXXXXXXXs3176141234. All outbound calls to 317 will then show 3176141234 as the caller ID of the call.

Sorry, 317XXXXXXX would be the code, NsYYYYYYYYYY would be the telephone number, dial, and the line group would be the same as all the other codes.

Maybe I misunderstood. I was told that if I added some #s to our PRI from a specific AC then I could go out those lines and avoid LD charges in that AC. We are in 270 and call a lot to 317 AC.

Numbers on a PRI are typically only used for inbound calls. A PRI is 23 channels. You can have 23 simultaneous calls. Any phone number can come in on any channel. Typically you are given x amount of monthly minutes included with the PRI. Any call, local or long distance, go against that number. You may need to double check your information.
