There are multiple users with bridged appearances to x1234. However, I need to keep users from picking up on an appearance with a call already in progress (barging).

I have enabled automatic exclusion by COS in sys fea, enabled automatic exclusion in the COS, and set up an exclusion button on x1234. No dice.

I have turned on data privacy. No dice.

I have turned on data restriction. No dice.

Any suggestions?

I have this working on CM2.1 with data restriction "n".

I believe you need to put an exclusion button on all of the phones with the bridged appearancnce as well.

Auto exclusion should work, works fine in my environment.
To review - x1234 has a COS which has "automatic exclusion" ON and also has an exclusion button?
The other lines with x1234 can still pick up line?

Call comes in to x1, x2 picks up the call on bridged appearance, x3 can pick up call on x1 bridged appearance that x2 is already on.

Each station is in COS where automatic exclusion and data privacy are set to 'y'. All stations have 'exclusion' button.

Am I missing something?

Administering Privacy for a user

To administer Privacy for a user:
1. Type change station n, where n is the extension of the user for whom you want to administer Privacy. Press Enter.
2. In the COS field, type the number of the COS that supports Data Privacy.
3. Click Next until you see the Data Restriction? field
4. In the Data Restriction? field, type y.
If the Auto Answer field is set to all or acd, you must not set the Data Restriction? field to y.
5. Click Next until you see the Button Assignments area
6. In the Button Assignments area, type exclusion next to the feature button number that you want the user to use activate privacy-manual exclusion, and to deactivate both
privacy-manual exclusion and privacy-automatic exclusion.
7. Press Enter to save your changes

Hope this helps.

data restriction to 'y' was what i was missing. however, that opens up a whole new can of worms. they use the intercom feature on a frequent basis. when data restriction on the user form is set to 'y', the intercom feature does not work. i remember reading that when auto answer is set to 'all' or 'acd', that you are not supposed to set data restriction to 'y'.

SF, that feature is toggled to 'y'

i imagine i've painted myself into a corner but any more suggestions would be appreciated...
