We need to install an application involving a Symbol LS5700 barcode reader (serial port). The reader would be located about 100 feet from the PC. I need to know if this will work with very little or no delay at all or if we need something like a KVM switch. Somebody can help?

At 100 feet there should be no delay
Unless you are speaking in milliseconds

At 100 feet, with serial cables, there is a chance you may have some problems with your transmissions. If so, slow down the baud rate at which you are transmitting the data.

Help,

Does anyone know where I can get the pin-outs for a Symbol LS5700 serial (RS232C) cable.

Thanks,

Gomemphis
