I have a CR 9 bar chart that charts on change of crew code, equipment code and charts average hours values. So for each of four crews identified on the x axis there are single lines for each piece of equipment's average hour value. I need an average line for each piece of equipment in the chart. Surely this is not too complex and has to be possible in CR 9? Can somebody instruct me how to do this please? I have read I can add an average trendline of type polyniomial of order zero to plot this constant mean, however the chart returns an error and says the order value must be between 1 and 4.

Thanks for your help

For any series on the chart you can click on the series and then bring up right-menu ChartOptions->SeriesOptions. One of the tabs you see there will be "trendlines". You can select a number of trendline types, including I think mean/median.

You can also manually specify a line of the chart, by doing ChartOptions->Grids then going to the tab all the way on the right. There you will see a place to define a 'user-line'.

Thanks for the hint - but the only trendlien options I have are Linear, Polynomial, Exponential, Logarithmic and Moving Average.

When inserting a user line is it true that you can only specify a single constant value - you are not able to insert a formula that would dynamically pick up on group averages?..or even place multiple lines on the chart?

Aaarrgh!
I forgot that the folks at Crystal made us remove a bunch of the curve/trend types from the UI (I don't remember why).

In any case, you CAN add a meanline using the @MEAN macro that is part of our CRChart replacement library. You can also programmatically add as many arbitrary x,y or xy lines as you want. You can get more info (including a free eval version) here:
