In an AIX 4.1.5 environment how can i alter or suppress the version information presented  at login time ?  Can the same be don for sendmail ?  I need to do this for security reasons.
 
Go into /etc/security/login.cfg and change the herald statement in the default stanza to something a bit less specific. An example would be:&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>default:<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;herald = &quot;\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUnix Support Test System \n\rUnauthorised Access Prohibited\n\rLogin: &quot;<br><br>Hope this is what you're after.<br><br>Dave <p>Dave Hamilton<br><a href=mailto:dhamilton@gio.com.au>dhamilton@gio.com.au</a><br><a href= > </a><br>
