Bandwidth question

Hi,

I need to connect two sites via vpn. I have 10 Ip stations in Site A and 20 in site B. Now, I need to know if how much bandwidth would I need to purchase for my VPN from provider so that I will a good connection between the two. How much bandwidth will 1 call eat up?

Hi,
It's depend about which codec u ll use in ip-codec, and the simultenous calls
for sure VPN, so G.729 it's good --> approximetly 24Kbps
if the maximum simultenous calls is: 5 --> 5*24= 120kb/s
The great bandwith is = 256 kbps only for voice

Also depends on whether you have Qos in use. If you use G.711 with Qos 1 call will use 83K

In ip-network-region u ll find QoS parameters such as Diffserv/TOS and 802.1p/Q
