I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this question but it's the closest match I could find!

Here's the problem that's been dumped in my lap. We've got a remote site on one coast of Florida and our main corporate office on the other coast. That's where I'm at. The two sites have partial T-1's (around 600Kbps) and use a virtual private network. The remote location is using a Sprint T-1, the corporate office's T-1 is from FDN, a local telcom.

We've been getting connectivity issues all over the place between the two sites. I need a suggestion on the best software to install to monitor the available bandwidth and utilization so I can figure out what we're using, when things go down, etc.

I'm not the admin for my company, I'm more software than hardware/networking. This got dumped in my lap. I'm sorry for the n00b nature of the question.

So would this be the wrong formum for this question?

It is "free" except the amount of work you have to do to configure it and get it running. There is no GUI. You edit config files with a text editor. Getting it going is not easy but not that complicated. The cfgmaker utility helps get one started.

Try it, you'll like it!
