Hi,

Does anyone here use any WAN bandwidth monitoring software that can tell a person the tpes of traffic - eg smtp, www, pop3, etc; and the portion of badwidth that certail IP's are using for the WAN links that Cisco routers are connected to?

Hi,
there is another software out there but haven't try it yet.
It has a free edition and a Pro (~$40)

PRTG (Paessler Router Traffic Grapher)

Maybe somebody who has try it has more comments on that.

PRTG looks like MRTG but with a fee. I'd just go with MRTG, except it doesn't care about the trafic type only the ammount.

A decent sniffer like Packetyzer (free) or commercial brands such as EtherPeek or NAI Sniffer. LANHound will also do this. If you have a Linux box, NTOP is great for this sort of thing..
