I am trying to find the maximum throughput (if that's the right word) for my 2524 router. I can draw bandwidth from a DS3, and I need to know how much I'll be able to use with this router. Anybody know?
TIA

The 2524 has a separate module for synchronous serial. However, I can't find any specification stating the maximum bit rate it can accept.

Use the other 2500 series routers with fixed high-speed serial WAN interface as a reference, however. These interfaces can only go up to T1 or E1 speeds. Orlando Palomar Jr

Thanks, OJ. It looks like I can put two wan Modules in the router and they both have a T1 maximum. I wish I knew for sure.
So what is the cheapest route for me to go to be able to utilze greater bit rate? Like say 10 Meg/sec? or 20 megs/sec?

TIA

I believe that the max throughput on the 5 in 1 sync card is 4mb. In order to run high speed wan services you typically need a hssi port. These routers do not support hssi.

To utilise the full line rate capacity of a t3 service you'll need at least a 3600 series router.

If your doing fractional t3 then you might get away with a 265x series router.

Thank you sharky. Do you (or anyone) know if I can put 2 5IN1 modules in the 2524 router? Would that give me 8mb/sec?
TIA

The 2500 series router has the following performance:

Process switched Fast/CEF
.8Kpps .4Mbps 4Kpps 2Mbps

This is the max the router is capable regardless of what cards are installed.
