hi All,
Good Day to you All !!

kindly help in out in the following.

Qes:How do I control the Bandwidth on redhat or linux.
I mean say if I have 128 KB internet Bandwidth.I would
like to assign a fixed bandwidth to Top manager's, to
dedicated server's running critical services, and rest
to the end users, and if say Top manager are not using
the Bandwidth, then that has to be shared b/w
dedicated servers & end users.

I know this is possible in Cisco routers, but I am
looking the same on a linux machine.

If Above is not possible is there any software for the
same on redhat.

Ans: ?

finally Thanks a lot for all your valueable feedback in
Advance.

Hi,

The QoS (Quality of Service) is controlled by the netfilter system - using the "tc" command.

Try CBQ script for much more easy usage of tc =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Depends what you want to control the bandwidth of - if it is just web traffic (HTTP) then you could use squid proxy server and its delay pools... ChrisCW
