Put simply, I have an IP 401 connecting talking to an IP 412.

All incoming and outgoing calls work except...

When trying to dial an external number from one of the 2 Avaya phones on the new 401 system the call doesn't connect, it never dials.

You can make a call from Phone Manager and you can use the redial button to dial the previously entered number.

The only system shortcode is ?/./Dial/101
Dial Delay Time is 2
Dial Delay Count is 4
(the same as our other sites)

Any ideas anyone?

need more detail,

what phones are they? are the dialing out on local trunks or over the ip link and using the trunks on the 412.

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.

have you got any sort of speech between these 2 sites, can calls be transfered through to 401 from the 412?

You guys are quick!

5410's just over the IP link (line 101)

They seem to be talking to each ok it just seems to be a dialing problem.

so you have

9N
dial
N
ID of IP line

or

?
dial
.
ID of IP line

in your shortcodes on the 401?

Erm... lots.

Of relevance, maybe?...

?/dial/./0

800N/dial/800N/IP line ID
801N/dial/801N/IP line ID... etc 1 like these for each site

0N/dial/0N/0

what happens when you try and dial through a phone? busy tone? dead air?

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.

Nothing, it never accepts the number, it just waits...

"01234 5678791 Dial

what are the voip settings in you ip lines?

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.

can you do one for the voip settings tab, although they must be ok if you can dial using redial and phone manager.

Tried this now, it just does the same thing.

Sorted now.

For reference, it was just a firewall/routing problem nothing to do with the Avaya configuration.

Thanks for your posts on this.
