I have an R2.2 with over 40 digital and analog TTR's. Message waiting light issues and port lockups in regards to the connected Duvoice DV2000 are the problem. (Yes, reliable disconnect is set)When testing, and after dialing the 2 digit ttr#, I randomly will get dead air. If I continue with the test I do get the confirmation beeps. If the same ttr is tested again the results are normal. This happens across all the receivers. Any thoughts on this? One other side note (if it makes a difference?)I'm testing via remote access. Is this not as reliable as onsite testing via a t/r port?

A question about port lock-ups....

You mentioned that Reliable Disconnect is on. What type of service is the LEC providing?

1) Standard Loop Start POTS lines
2) Standard Ground Start POTS lines
3) ISDN
4) T1 inband (E&M, Loop Start or Ground Start)
5) Something else

If the LEC fails to provide a disconnect, turning on the Reliable Disconnect won't make any difference.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

A Combination of POTS and PRI w/DID service. This has just recently become a problem within the past week. The Duvoice replaced their Intuity a little over a year ago. I only noted the reliable disconnect was on to avert a deluge of fix responses as this is the primary reason voicemail ports lock up.

Ok... a mix of service types. Is it known if the problem happens on calls that come in on the POTS, DID or both?

Were any changes to the customer's telephone service or systen programming made within the past week?

(I'm not familiar with Duvoice so I'll avoid specific questions concerning it).

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

I tested the switch onsite - nothing wrong. Turns out the customer made a change to the default location in the voicemail basically telling it that what once was there now was not - the port "lock ups" were actually the v-mail port in a loop looking for the information "Get Inband Info" to play a prompt to. Interesting how the v-mail port never disconnected - anyway Duvoice tech support got involved and all is well. Thanks for your input.

Ah! A slap on the back of the hand might be in order. [wink]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

One point of information: Reliable Disconnect setting only affects analogue lines/trunks terminating on 408xxx or 400xxx modules. Those settings have NO effect on anything connected to the 100D or 100INA DS1 modules. The disconnect function is an inherent function of PRIMARY ISDN.
