Bad squealing in phones

Quite recently I have been getting some bad squealing/feedback on our MLX phones. We do not have this problem on any of them BIS phones.

The feedback on the MLX's happens every here and there, on random lines, and random phones, but it is loud enough when it does happen that you have to hang up on the person and call them back.

Any suggestions?

We have had a similar problem on these sets as well over some DS1 trunks. What we found was the headset volume was turned up so high that this was actually causing the sqealing. Depending on the line, sometimes it would appear and sometimes not. Try lowering the volume on sets with the condition and see if that helps. Obviously it is best to test while on a call.
