Bad sound quality on Cisco switch

My customer with SCN of 11 sites has changed their old Netgear switches to new shiny Cisco switches.

Now they experience very VERY poor sound quality.

They say thy have configured DCSP to 46 and tried different full/half duplex settings. with no luck.

Anyone who have experienced anything similar??? And most of all, found a sollution?

Our support at Westcon directs us to knowledge base and i cannot find anything usefull.

Must have to do something with Qos on the cisco network.
You need a engineer to check the cisco network and settings on the cisco network and no how avaya works.

But if you only use SCN and no ip-phone i always set the priority on the cisco ports wich the IP-Office,s are connected.

That means the IPO don,t have to send anything for Qos its al done by the cisco network from beginning to end and you don,t have discusions with the data provider.

There are a mix of SCN and IP phones.

The customer has installed Cisco swithes on three sites and sound quality is poor on those sites.

Im witing for some testresults from the customer.
 
I would refer to my document regarding a IP Phone Vlan enviroment. have a read if you get stuck let us know.

Are you saying the quality is bad only on the Local lan and good accross the Wan links ?? please provide more indepth information regarding the issue.

If you pulled out old 10mb switches and went to 100mb switches, I would suspect your cabling.
Check your switchports for CRC and fragment errors.
 
I just found out that the customer solved the issue himself.

When i get the info on what he did i will post it.
