I have an IP500V1 with a bad power supply. I am trying to repair it, and possibly put in a power supply from a spare IP500V2 that i have.

For the most part they look identical; however the part number in the V1 is 46YPW0002UKAA and in the V2 it is 46YPW0002UKAB.

Anyone have any info on whether this will work or not, or whether there is a problem with putting this in?

Thanks,

Jo

I think the PSU in a v2 is better. Why not just send it to Multi message for a repair?

Who is multi message, and how do i contact them?

I've seen a IP500v2 power supply work for a week in a V1 after a customer swapped it over. Told them not to do it and quoted a V2. Then was calling up for an emergency V2 when it went bang. Then they were left with two chassis that had no PS.

Don't do it pal.
It's not supposed to be serviceable.

the V2 power supply is in deed stronger than the V1 but North America did not have a lot of trouble with the power supplies breaking down because with 115V we put lower strain on it than the European 230V counterparts.
I would keep the V2 and send the V1 out for repair (and get it a year later back if you send it to Avaya, LOL) and then you keep it on the shelf for the next one.
