how can you take the dn of a bad port and put it on free one lets say the port of dn 370 is bad how can you put it on the free port of dn 300 thanks a lot guys....i read a previous thread about this it said that you put set relocation on yes and switch jumpers ...but when i tried it after i put the relocation on yes my system frooze it took forever to do its update it kept updating for 45 minutes ....i only have one free port left could it be that it took forever to update itself because the system is overloaded or full ???

is there another way to do this besides the set relocation

Change the DN in confiruration

Old software: Config/Misc/ChangeDN
New software: Feature Settings/ChangeDN

If you have it hooked to voice mail and a mailbox built then don't forget to change the B2 DN of the port also.

there was no voice mail attached to the bad port but i don't understand what is the "B2 DN " of the bad port??

B2 channel is what things like Voice Mail, CTA and other devices use.

If you say you have a 4 channel vmail then it realy takes 2 ports....2 channels per port.

Unless you're programming these every day, you can pretty well forget b2 dn's exist. They're a "phantom dn", a way for the phone system to utilize...

Aaah, don't worry about it. Most devices won't use it.

Would using the DN change feature on a set on a MICS DR6.1 system with a CP100 cause calls to that number to get a ring no answer condition? If so, how can I correct the problem?

To what number the extention that is now working or the DID assigned to the old number.

Extension 238 had to be moved to where extension 240 was. 238 no longer forwards to voice mail.

Looks like when you swap DNs the Line Assignment and Prime Set information don't come with the DN...
