Must the call be in process (2 way)before you hit the "bad line button" or feature code?
If you are dialing out of the Hicom and get silence can you flag the call as bad without being connecting to dialled #?
Yes, there must be answer supervision or a connection to a CO trunk. I wish the feature logged more than just the trunk channel. It was nice in the Rolm 9751 also seeing the extension that flagged the trunk.
