IPO500V2 with 2 of the older white expansion units. We have all 44XX digital phones.

Phones/handsets on this particular phone port have been changed out 3X. The symptoms are

inbound audio on handset not working
Swap phones or tinker with swapping handsets seems to have resolve the issue.

Hours later, problem comes back again.
I know handsets were swapped last week and the problem went away and came back.
Today, phones were swapped. Problem went away and came back a couple hrs later.

Whaddya guys say. A reboot of the PBX and for sure, the port on the IPO/or expansion module (whichever the phone port is married to ) is going south ?

Move this particular phone to a different port on the other expansion and give that a go. Otherwise, see above.

1st question I would ask is what firmware version are you running
sounds like it is probably V out of date & there may be a maintenance patch that resolves this.

other causes of the problem could be either poor quality wiring or indeed a fault expansion module.

I would hope that your maintainer would notice the problem keeps returning & take a different approach to simply replacing the handset again

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
