The copy of xp that I am running I got from a friend who told me it was a corporate copy. I am having multiple errors and I am not sure if it stems from this copy of xp or something else. The first error is internet explorer windows pops up constantly. Some sites will not come up all I get is a blank page. That is only a couple of the errors, I just need to know if any one out there is familiar with what would happen when your running a bad copy of xp.

Can users in the UK purchase these additional licenses or are they solely the realm of the US users? As all prices quoted were in $'s also the note above indicated to use country as "US"?

Hey Bcastner,
That was very good and extremely informative. Thanks

The 23 $ Disk-Kit I am referring too is just that, a CD WITHOUT a key!
It actually reads on the disc:
(Volume License Product Key Required)

These are perfectly legit and any main dealer will ship them, or even MS itself in some countries.
They are sold as replacement CD's for your OS or suite.
I always purchase them as a clean backup-CD, (just got the 2003 range).

This does in no way give you the right to use a 'used' or cracked key of course!
And yes, you can buy an additional license, one by one if you want to.

HI theonlytazman
I could only assume that this is for anyone considering you can buy the additional licenses online. And don't quote me on price all I remember is about $75.

PS: I am not from US, so in my case it is actually 23 Euro I am paying.

theonlytazman,
I have not seen any country restrictions. Just do the shop Microsoft to get referred to your local MS shopping site.

genrlj1596,

You are welcome. The savings program for small purchases is well hidden.

marcs41,

Thanks. MS always just shipped for me a replacement CD without expense if it was unreadable, but it is nice to know you can just buy one.

I think though the thread was focused more on licensing issues than replacement media, but I for one appreciate the heads up on a replacement media option. I am astounded how often a site I visit cannot find, or if so, the disk has been scractched beyound any reasonable further use.

Best,
Bill Castner

Thanks guys for all the info on the licensing rules

Nice to know we in the UK can for once benefit from a M/Soft giveaway - very unusual for them to do this normally!

Whenever replacement cd's are to be shipped the criteria is always ship to US or Canada - what about the rest of the world???

They ship anywhere, if you don't want the hassle, look up a local MS Certified Software dealer and get them to get it for you.
I get mine through Ingram Micro and I am in Europe too.
