I have a CS1000E CPIV redundant Core 0 and Core 1. When doing backups it will not backup to the RMD flash card. Message shows:

SRPT4619 WARNING: Last Archive Procedure had failed
% No archives were completed since Apr 23 03:16:00 2013
%
%
% TEMU020 Errno 0x38001c: Failure opening file /cf2/backup/single/config.rec/

Tried a new falsh card with the same result. Tried the oringinal flash card on a lab core spare and there was no problem. I have to assume there is a problem on the core. Anyone encountered this and had it resolved?

Haven't tried it since the customer won't let us switch cores at this time. Midnite routine to switch cores is disabled.
I would also like to mention this is Rls 5.00w.

I would
1. Split the Cores if you can
2. Try doing an EDD on each Core while they are split
3. Then join the Cores and see if trouble clears
4. Swap CPU's back and forth and make sure they swap without issue

My guess is something is hung and should clear up on a Sysload. You may end up having to Sysload each side. There was a patch for this back on 4.5. I would also make sure your Deplist is current, if not then update it. I also would not rule out a bad P IV Processor.

The file exists on the RMD as well as on the core. At this point we are going to do as KCFLHRC is suggesting but we are going to SCPU's first before splitting since things may be okay on the inactive core so after splitting we can work on the core that is having the problem. I just thought there may be a way of going into PDT and to debug at which point there may be commands to fix the problem. We are just waiting for a maintenance window to do this. Thanks for everyone's input. I will post when we resolve the problem in case someone else encounters this same scenario.

When the SCPU command was issues the problem followed the Core. After splitting and doing a sysload on each core the problem is resolved. Thanks to all.
