Hi,

I've recently bought a HP IPAQ 2210, and was delighted that it came with its own backup software/system, as I don't yet have a card to backup too (looking for one of these at the moment).

But after the first use, I can no longer use it, it says "Insufficient space for image file. Space required 5729KB".

I've no idea what it means because I thought I had loads of space on my PDA, thought I have loaded lots of programs, and have quite a few more to put on there.

As I said I am looking to buy a memory card, but need to know more before I go out buy it.

My main need is for backups, so which type of card do I need ?

Also, if I need one to store programs I'm downloading from the internet, do I need a different type ?

If I need two different kinds, can I have both inserted at the same time ? or do I need to switch between them as needed ?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Regards,
Jay/UK

I use Sprite Pro backup because it backs up to your PC or your PPC. Here is a link
If you are getting an error that says "Insufficient space for image file. Space required 5729KB" then I think you might need to do a soft reset. That < 6MB file should have saved.

It does not matter which memory card you get, as long as it is enough for everything you need it for. I have 512MB and I need more. I thing the 2215 has two different memory slot, one CF and one SD. CF (compact flash) memory is cheaper than SD (secure digital), but SD is smaller.

Hi Dave,

I actually downloaded Sprite Backup this morning, and although I'm sure it said you could back up to your PC, I couldn't seem to figure out how to do this. Will need to investigate ...

I notice there are 2 versions (Standard - which is a much smaller download - and Professional - much bigger download !) - are you aware of any advantages of the Professional package I should consider, cos I downloaded the Standard one (as it took less time !).

With regards the problem with IPAQ Backup, I have done a number of soft resets due to software lockups (don't know why) and software installs. It makes NO DIFFERENCE at all to my IPAQ Backup error message !

I will buy whatever memory is cheaper if I can use it for backups and/or data and/or software storage.
