just installed 6.7 and created a new database
for some reason both the backup and restore function is greyed out, as well I am the only user of this pc, and I installed as a single user, what is the best setting to give to user of the database, as for some reason my calendar is showing info from the demo databases?

You have to be a Master user to access the backup / restore options.

The Calendar is shared between all contact set databases. Therefore, when you created a new database you just created a new contact database, not a new calendar.
