When trying to add new backup-to-disk- folder and using a mapped drive for the path. I get the error message:

Unable to create new backup folder. Access is deined.

The folder on the mapped drived is shared with permission for everyone. Does BE have to be a user on the remote server
where it is trying to create the folder?

How did you resolve this issue. I am having a similar problem with my backup. Backup to folder on local host works, but to a linux based NAS or any server at all results in a similar message.

I have similar problems too. I am trying to create the backup-to-disk folder using a mapped drive to a Netware volume. I get all sorts of different errors such as:

"The network name cannot be found"
"invalid password"
"user not found"

Anyone have success doing this to a mapped network drive?

you need to specify a UNC path to the folder in the B2D.
ie. \\servername\sharename

the UNC path to your disk folder,is case sensitive. Try changing that.
