I have a couple of external usb HD that I want to use as devises form my backups. I am trying to decide whether to create a "Backup-to-disk folder" or a "Removable backup-to-disk folder".
I am currently backing up data from 4 servers with 1 full backup (~ 23GB uncompressed) and 6 incremental (~ 7GB uncompressed)per week. I also rotate my usb HD and bring 1 home with me every night. Backup Exec v9.1
The problem I am having is that with a regular "Backup-to_disk folder" I have to pause and resume the device every time I unplug and replug the USB HD. Which is every night since I swap the drives every night. If you do not pause and resume the device the backup job does not run, it waits, which creates a big pain in my ... (I think you get the picture)
The problem I am having with "Removable Backup_to_disk forders" is that it doesn't support current jobs, slowing down the backup process such that the backup is still running when I come in.
Just looking for some advise, tips or pros and cons from those that may have implemented either solution.
Thanks
