I have a backup to disk folder which nightly has 120gb of backup files in there. Each one being 1gb each. These then get backed up to tape.

Currently there are 2 days worth of files in the folder, I want to know how to change this so the only files in there are the ones that were backed up in the last backup. so there only 1 days worth of iles.

Thanks

Jade

Create a batch file that deletes the files in this directory and schedule to run at a suitable time.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

You could use a archive job to tape, I believe that will remove the files after they are backed up.

Couple ways:-

1. Change the Overwrite protection for the media set these b2D files are in to 1 day.
In tools, options, media management, change to overwrite recycable media first.

or

2. if you are running 9.1, instead of doing a backup of the B2D files, run a duplicate job to tape. This can be setup to run right after the backup to B2D has completed.
