Is ti possible to make a backup of one option 11C system and place it on a complete new system?
Would I get any conflicts with serial numbers and so on?

no there is a procedure for moving the cdb, i've done it on 81's a couple of times and from a 61 to an 81.. 11 to 11 should work just as well

Yes it is possible, there are a number of things you need to be aware of.
Is the new system on the same software release as the first,
is the software keycode on the new board capable of taking your existing database ie, have you enough analogue and digital on it.
Have you taken a back up before and was it via a pcmcia card or on to a lap top in load 143.

give me a shout back, good luck, mark

Yes you can. First you will need to backup the CDB of the old system, by going to ld 143(the command XVR), save it onto a PCMCIA card or to a laptop Computer. Then once you have the software installed on the new PBX, go to ld 143 and restore CDB (the command XRT) from whereever you saved it! I havn't done it in years, but that should work!

Should I put back the backup during the software installation, or wait until the software has installed and then just work in LD 143?

when i use to do it, i waited unil the software was installed, then once it was installed, worked in ld 143, i don't think you can do it during the software install.

During the software install, it's best if you just use the deafult database (Select option 1). After the default database & software has been installed & "EDD" OK, use your database to be copied onto it via LD 143. I have done a guide on how to do a restore. Please contact me if you would like a copy, but please don't place any email address's on this forum.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I did not think you could "mirror" another option 11 without a dongle being installed

The dongle relates to the keycodes for the software you are installing.

i would also make sure the packages mach up as i found 1 dipstick loaded a config only to find the the new sys didnt have the correct pkg's to support QSIG (how i laughed)

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder
