Hi All:

One of our networker client Full backup of a particular saveset was failed. Whereas, level 9 backup is completing successfully.
I have checked in the deamon.log . It gives the following error.

<clientname>.<savesetname> : !no output.

This client has 6GB RAM and it is runing in AIX 4.3 . This server doesnt have any oracle/sql/mysql databases.
Can any one please let me know what causing this problem..? . This problem is occuring from last 2 weeks, all these days, it was fine.

Thanks,
Pd77.

Here are some hints from the savegrp manpage - maybe this helps:

no output
The save set completed, but returned no status output.
The most common reasons are that the client crashed or lost its network connection
(i.e.. a router between the client and server crashed) while the client was
being backed up. Another is that the disk on which the client status was being
logged filled up (perform a df /nsr/tmp to see if this was the case). To
determine if the save set was saved, you can use mminfo(1m). For example, run
mminfo -v -c clientname -t ’1 day ago’ and look at the flags column for the
completion status. An ’a’ flag means it aborted. Use a more distant time (the -
t option) to look further back in time.

Hi 605,

Thanks for the reply. Even i suspected the same ....
I have checked all our logs and we couldnt find any network connectivity problem during the backup time .
I also checked the /nsr/tmp size of the servers and it is not full.

Thanks,
Pd77.

Any firewalls between the server and client? If that is the case, you might need to have a look at the tcp session timeout value of the firewall.

Hi Rif123:

We dont have any firewall in this server and i have increased my inactivity timeout value. I spoken to the business to do test backup some nextweek . I will monitor the backup and i'll let u know the status....
