Backup Problem

Hi all,
I need help with backup. We are using veritas 9. We backup approximately 1,5 tb of data daily. But even though we use 4 disks (800 gb each) backup jobs are queued and we have to insert new media for job to continue. (we have 5 backup jobs daily and append to media is checked in some jobs.)

and my problem is that why do these jobs persist on not appending the media?? they are just waiting. 800*4=3,2 tb of space and i have to insert a 5th cartridge for the backup to be complete. (less than 1,5 tb of data)

Is it set to append/overwrite in the job setup?

yes cyber its set to append. as i said there are 5 daily jobs and three of them overwrite. overwrite jobs start earlier. when they are finished the other jobs start. but they dont append and waits for an overwritable media. Here is the details of backup jobs.

1-) starts at 18:30 overwrite 30gb
2-) " " 18:32 overwrite 300gb
3-) " " 20:00 overwrite 380gb
4-) " " 21:00 append 75gb
5-) " " 23:00 append 120gb

first one is differential.
