Backup of Priv.edb taking over double the time.

Hi...

PRIV.EDB is taking over double the time to backup. Over a week ago it was taking 4 hours and now it's taking over 9 hours.

Just wondering if anyone knows why...it's mind boggling. It's definitley not the backup s/w or device.

Erm, how are you backing it up?

All depend on size of database, what software you're using to backup, the media being used (if any).

If you can add a few more specifics, it would be helpful

Thanks....I'm using Data Protector with 200/400GB DLT tapes over a dedicated 100 megabit backup link.
We have around 14 Exchange servers and this one is the only one playing up, it was fine just a week ago. Could it be perhaps the edb is fragmented?

Is there virus scan software running on the server while it is being backed up? Sometimes that will slow a backup down.
