backup from 8.0 and restore to 9.0 1

Hi,
i have two CXI, the diffence between them is:
CXI 1 version 8.0 (with an analog option board)
CXI 2 version 9.0
i am wandering if it is possible to use the backup of CXI 1 and restore it to CXI 2.

should work as newer software levels will support older backups but not vice versa

That would be precisely the method that upgrades are performed. Usually on the same box but hey, let's not be nitpicky

There is no reason you cannot use your 6.x,7.x,8.x database to go to rel 9. the rn states the forward migration process. restoring a higher level db than the os on the box just does not work, and is not worth putting time into

I dont know why anyone would want to go near v9 at the moment
