Hi Everyone,

Here we have checked VSS shadows but no old shadoes is available.

We have done the below steps but still getting same error.

1. Restart the VSS(Volume shadows service and Microsoft shadows provider.
2. Excute the vssadmin list writer to check the vol snap and also execute delete shadows /all
3. Restarted the Networker remore exec services.

Most of the server clients failing on the VSS SYSTEM FILESET:\ saveset. I have similar sysmptoms of a large backup size and slow throughput, but obviously the repeat failures are my real concern.

Here in out setup environment Both the clients and the NW servers having a same version 7.6.

Does anyone have any suggestions & possible resolution ?

ANY help will be much appreciated

Make a text file and rename it to match the 'missing' file.

Windows 2008 (& Windows 7) requires VSS to be used by any backup provider to make a temporary copy of all files and present the copy to the backup provider. I don't know where VSS gets it's list of files to make a copy of, but VSS expects the file to be on C: but it's not and errors.

There is no permanent 'Shadow Copy' of the file to be cleared with the VSS Admin delete shadow /all. This would effect any Shadow Copies set on the volume properties to allow versioning of files. Same Shadow Service but 2 different functions.

Have a look at the powerlink document esg116035.

If you dont want to roll out the patch use the workarround described by sfellow

Yes, you have to use WSB (Windows Server Backup) on all 2008 systems. WSB creates an image to a remote share then NW backs up the remote share. This is messy for a few reasons.

1. It creates the need for extra space for the image repository WSB will create which could be quite large depending on the number of '08 servers.

2. If you have tight security in any way shape or form, good luck getting a service account created for this purpose. We employ cyber-ark and managing this is going to be a nightmare.

It would be sweet if MS & EMC would / could work together to come up with a solution housed within the NW software.
