backup exec off line

After restarting the backup exec service, my tape devices both show as "DeviceName
- Off line". Under the Properties, Configuration tab, the device is selected
as Enabled and under Tools, Configuration Wizard the devices show up. What
would cause this and how do I correct it?

Best way to get rid of that:

1) Turn your tape drive off and back on.
2) Boot the server the drive's attached to.

That way the server will see the drive when it boots up. Happens to me occasionally and this works every time.
