Backup exec nightmare

I am running veritas backup exec v8.06 on windows 2k server..
keep getting message box..
Overwriting allocated media "DLT00007"
media overwrite protection is configured to overwrite allocated media.
Plz consult online help for more info with allocated media..
50-100 email and printer notifications are then sent,
really need a solution as this is a real important gig for me and i need to resolve this issue..

The message means that you have set your backup to overwrite, instead of appending to, the backup device. You should be able to ignore the message except for the 50-100 e-mails and printer notifications. How do you have your messaging configured?
