Hello and thanks for reading..

I have been trying to get the notification option to work outside the network with no success. I can place an smtp from an outside source for testing and all works well, but when I use our own, notifications only are sent internally.

I have used the symantec database for help with no luck.

I guess at this point im looking for a step by step tutorial to help me fix this issue.

If you have any assistance, it would be *greatly* appreciated.

Backup Exec9.1 is running on windows 2k adv server
im using a SONICWALL also if that helps.

cheers

I will test this on my system and see what happens. I am pretty sure this is a limited option for Veritas, not sure though.

Ill setup a notification to my home e-mail tonight and let you know what happened tomorrow.

I finally gave up trying to get the notification to work the way it suppose to so what i did to work around it was to create a distribution list, then slap a "contact" in it and then put the "group" addy in the field to notify. now i get my msgs via my cell and any other email i choose, or several at a time.
