Backup Exec 8.6 Scheduled jobs will not start 1

This has now happened on three different servers within the last two weeks.

I have tried stopping services, renaming of the scheduler file, and restarting services, but that did not work on any of them.

When I try to "Run Now" it just schedules another job. Eventually, two or three days later, it finally says the job has been "Missed.

Make sure that the tape device isn't paused.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

Is this the only backup job you have running? if yes
Have you got both jobs running at the same time?

On 'Activity Monitor' right click and select 'Edit JoB'
Make Sure Device - BNCHMARK 1 and Media Set are correct.
Also check there is a Media Set for the backup job.

The server was paused. I had checked the media several times and totally missed it EVERYTIME! Believe me, this caused a few choice words when I discovered I had looked this over umpteen times.
