Backup Exec 8.6 problem

Hello all. Hoping you lovely people can help me with a problem were having with Backup Exec 8.6. The problem is that the job appears to complete but the software still reports the job as running.

I set the backup to eject the tape after the backup is completed, and this happens so I'm assuming that everything is fine. Also, I look at the job log for that backup. It gives the start and finish times of the backup, and the start and finish times for the tape to be verified. This all appears to be fine to me.

While I am physically holdng the tape and looking at the log, the software still says that the backup is running. This is obviously a proble as the next schedule backup will not run as it believes the previous backup hasn't completed.

All 7 Backup Exec services are running fine.

Any help will be very much appreciated. Let me know if you need any further info etc.

By the way, it is running on Windows 2000 SBS

Take the eject tape out of the job setup. Or search support.veritas.com on how to set Backup Exec 8.6 by the registry to respond to the media remove alert that you are recieving

I don't recieve a media remove alert when the tape ejects. The tape just ejects, as I requested when setting up the backup, but the software reports that it is still backing up.
