I have a GFS scheme set up and have elected to have the Weeekly and Monthly full backups eject the media when finished. Although I have confirmed these settings in the policy the tapes are not being ejected when the jobs finish successfully.

We are using a Dell PowerVault 124t with an 8 media magazine.

Anyone have any idea what I may have spaced on?

Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Scott

Sorry, I must be dislexic. I mean Backup Exec 10d (not b) (10.1 Rev. 5629)

Thanks,
Scott

Autoloader dont support tape ejection.
If you have a mail slot in the autoloader in your policy setup a export template

Thank you Steve. I appreciate the assistance. We do have Mailboxes, I'll check that out.

Have a great day!

Scott

also, check your job Destination/Device & Media.
but if it applies autoloader...Steve is right.
Use the device it self to eject it the media from desired slot. (manually)

a looong shot:
If your autoloader supports/has its own application for basic tape handeling then perhaps you can utilize Pre/Post commands in policy...but most autoloaders will NOT allow you to do so...it kills the concept of auto-loading if the tape is ejected since there is, usually, no robotic hand involved to push the tape back in.
I rotate monthly tape followed by cleaning tape...dont mind the trip ones a month while the rest of the tapes are autoloading.

Is there a need to each tape to be pulled out and filed away?
All the best!
