Hi there,

I have a server running Veritas 8.6 and another server running Exchange 2000 with the Veritas Exchange backup agent installed. However, when I select the Exchange server to back it up there is no Exchange backup option. If I run the backup s/w on the Exhange server then there is. What am I doing wrong??

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

I think you have the agent loaded on the wrong machine. I believe the agent should be loaded on the server with Backup Exec. Not on the actual Exchange server.

SQLBILL is correct. you need the agent load on the backup server not exchange.

Hold on! This could Hurt! I ain't certified by Microsoft!

Thanks

You also need the exchange management tools installed on the backup Exec server. After you get the tools installed cycle the backupe exec services. If you want to perform mailbox backups - you need to isntall outlook on the backpu exec server as well.

Thanks for all your replies guys, they've all been very useful!

Cheers,
