Hello,

since 2 weeks every backup crashes.
All the data is backed up (I can see it in Restore too),
but when it comes to the end and want to compare the CRC-values (like I set in the backup-options) the backup crashes
nearly at the end of the compare.
The job status is crashed but the job-log doesn't show any errors!!!
Does anybody see something like this before?
I work with ARCSERve 2000 Advanced Ed. withthe latest SP installed (and everything works fine befor)

Please help!
Best regards
Peter

Just a couple of observations.
1) You say - Everything is identical up to the "End Impersonation." But the log for job 377 starts several lines after End Impersonation. Why? is that because the log was missing the line about export?
2) Why the big difference in the # of directories and files backed up?

Sorry if I was not clear. On the unsuccessful job 377, END IMPERSONIZATION is the first log entry NOT seen when compared to the successful job 375. Look at the four lines above END IMPERSONIZATION of 375 and the last four lines of the unsuccessful job 375 and you will see they are identical. Something happens the stops the END IMPERSONIZATION command the and subsequent commands that are required to close the job cleanly.

Sorry I still don't understand.
If the two jobs are identical why does 377 do a compare and 357 does not do a compare?
You mean to say that job 377 does not even report how many mbs it backes up, and just goes from average throughput to the mbs compared?
If the jobs are identical why does job 357 backup
58,645 Directories 158,902 Files (14,549.17 MB)
and job 377 compare only
337 Directories 4,315 Files (6,204.78 MB)?
Perhaps putting the Job Engine in debug would help.

Both jobs are doing a compare. That is the point. 377 crashes just at the very end before it reports summary information. What I'm pointing out are the last few log entries in 375 that ARE NOT in 377 because of the crash.
