I backed up DB in micros 3700 5.1 by using DBM and backup created .mbz5.
Now when I try to restore by using DBM in new machine with fresh installed of 5.4 MR1, it is looking for .mbz5g2.
How do I restore micros 5.1 DB files to micros 5.4 MR1?
thanks

yes, they both keyless. I think there is license file I need to install and not sure how to get the license out of my original micros 5.1 and bring it to this new 5.4 mr1.
any ideas?
thanks

There aren't any licensing codes anymore. Open License Manager and check the box next to anything you have a license for and hit the Reload button.

Hi pmegan and Jakba,
Unfortunately, there aren't any box to check marks.
Please see attached screenshot.
thanks

I thought that version had already gone to keyless licensing.

My suggestion would be to patch it up to 5.4 MR2. That does away with the license key altogether.

If you have to stay on MR1, you can copy the licensing from your 5.1 server.
Open the registry editor on your 5.1 server.
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROS\Common
Right click on LicenseManager and export it to some kind of portable media, like a memory stick
Open the registry editor on your 5.4 server and import the LicenseManager key you just saved

Here's the tricky part. Micros RES is a 32 bit application, so you have to run the 32 bit version of the registry editor.
If the server has a 32 bit OS, you can just run regedit from start/run
If the server has a 64 bit OS, you have to run the 32 bit registry editor. To do this, open windows explorer and browse to C:\Windows\SYSWOW64 and double click regedit.exe

Once you have the registry entries copied, open License Manager. You should see all of your codes in the boxes. You'll still have to transfer the USB license key from the old server to the new one to activate the licenses.

Hi pmegan,
I followed your instructions and was able to export and import.
Now my License manager shows all licensed in RED, but on top it still shows "key Not Present in Grace Period in yellow highlight and shows grace period started at: 9/2/2016 8:37AM, Grace period will expire at: 9/10/2016 8:37AM.
Is this good? I also noticed that my original micros 5.1 shows the License manager version as 5.4 MR2
thanks a lot for all your help.

you can restart the below services worked for me sometimes back

MICROS Database Service
DbUpdateServer
MICROS MDS HTTP Service
Micros Remoting Service

or restart the server but from the image the license manager did not patch correctly.
