Backup 300MB/min but restores 1.6MB/min?!

I have run a restore this weekend of a large amount of data and whereas the backup ran at 300MB/min, the restore rate is only 1.6MB/min.

I have trawled the Veritas site & searched the Tek-tips one but cannot find any notes on this.

Any ideas?

I have seen the restore rates much slower when writing to a RAID 5 container than when backing up to tape. However not near that significant of a drop.
