using arcserve 2000 w/SP2. during full backup, will write about 23GB to first tape (35/70 DLT IV), then start a 'sequence 2' and continue on a new tape....Has anyone seen this, and/or have a possible answer? Thanks!

I noticed it this weekend with the our weekly backups. Caused us to run out of tapes and fail the last few backups. Since it's not just me, I'll call CA support and see if they know anything about it. I'm betting not.

I contacted CA, their solution is to replace the SCSI card or enable software compression, under General-Backup Options. I asked why it worked under NT4 and AS6.61, their answer is that with the change in operating system may require hardware upgrades....

Thanks for the info. Arcserve support told me about the same thing - said to try newer driver or newer hardware. Seems like they're just 'passing the buck', but fortunately not a serious problem...........
