Backup exec. 4.3, DLT 110T 4000 Tape drive, 40/80 tapes. Everything seems to back up fine, and everything restores fine, but on the log it gets to 99% then fails. I am doing full back ups nightly, about 14 gig. All my settings are currently at default. I do get some alerts"Overwriting allocated media DL000012".....any help would be appreciated, thanks

That is usually caused by the software waiting for you to eject the tape.

Try ejecting the tape and see if it then goes to 100%.

Thanks Zel. What happens though, is that it hangs at 99% untill I eject it, then it fails. I've turned off eject media when job completes, still the same thing, However I tried a small back up yesterday during the day as a test and it had no errors, But this morning, it failed again. Possible hardware problem?

Please try the following Technote. Note although the Technote title is realting to a Travan tape device but it resolves the same issue which you are getting. Please use it ...it is a very good Technote

When performing a backup operation with Backup Exec for Windows NT v8.0, v7.3, v7.2 or v7.01 using a DLT or Travan tape drive or a tape drive controlled by RAIDirector, the backup hangs at 99% until the user responds to a tape eject prompt
