I have recently made a report in my database which keeps track of inventory in my company. The data is coming from a large network and is filtered down to a table using one main query. What I need to do is to keep a daily record of this report in order to do an I/O (in and out) report. So basically what I am asking is if there is a way to get the database to automatically store the data on a daily or weekly basis so that another report and be created with the deltas. I have been trying to think of ways to do this so if anyone has any suggestions or solutions it would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for any responses.

i'm not sure the best solution, but i bet you
could have the db export a snapshot of the
table to a (text?) file with a naming convention
that includes the time... then schedule it up to run.
eg may8CustomerTable.txt

I've figure out how to export my report automatically and save it as the date (ie 5-9-2003.xls) but I'm not really sure how to go about collecting all of there excel files in order to compare them. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

What do you mean by collecting?
keeping them all in one place?
(maybe make each day a different worksheet in
the same excel file, maybe just keep them all
in one static shared dir)
mining their data?
(idunno...)

i imagine either option would
provide an excel programmer more than enough
to compare data accross days.

still, be more specific.
