Is there an easy way to backup XP, so you can
restore it back to a certain point?

Howdy:

Yep, it's called a Restore Point and is built into XP..

Are you only trying to backup XP system files, or all of Win XP (including 'My Documents", etc?)

Are you wanting to save the total machine set-up? Or just your own work on the computer?

If it's your own work that's the main point, then make sure it all goes in one file, or just a few files. You can put everything in a file called My_Own_Work or something similar. And then copy it to a CD every week or so.

XP's recovery works only for as long as the machine doesn't suffer a wipe-out; an internal error, or maybe a fire in your workplace or home. (It is also a good idea to store the CD somewhere else.)
