Hello all,

As a precaution, I've recently created a Windows Image Backup using Vista's built in Complete PC Backup and Restore. The backup to a 500Gb USB drive was flawless and quick. My question is this: If I should have to restore from that backup, will installed software (i.e. MS Office 2007) need to be activated again?

My appologies if there is a similar thread already....I was unable to locate one, nor was I able to find anything through Microsoft.

Many thanks...

Yes, it will restore a real image of everything as it was when the image was created. Everything would be just as it was when the image was taken. The only things that would concievably need to be re-activated, would be any software that is licensed to the unique ID of your hard drive (which presumably has died & been replaced, hence the need to restore).
