I have the backup commands running weekly on my switch. (According to the schedule).

How can I copy that backup down to my admin computer to store off site?

I know about the file xfer tool, but where do I find the backups?

If you have the CF card for backup media just do your backup to the CF card, and then use a card reader on your PC to copy off the files. I am not sure, however, if the card will be formatted with a unix/linux filesuystem or it will be traditional. That you will find out when you try to read the card.

I also found a place in administrator to download to the Admin Terminal.

Thanks!

You can also configure an offsite backup to an ftp server. It took me 2 years to get IT to give me space on the ftp server, and now I still haven't gotten around to trying it yet! With me you have to strike while the iron is hot I guess!

that is how we backup here. To an FTP server; the data get over written when the next back up takes place.

I use Donb01's backup server method because you can restore from the backup server if your network connection is there.
I use NFS format and backup to a linux server. You can also go into the backup page in assistant and do a logical backup to the buffer. Then you enter comwin and go to unix file transfer. You have to navigate to (I think this is the path) /var/itita/output and drag the backup to your pc. It takes a while for the backup to copy to my laptop, though it might just be my network.
