Hi,

We have numerous servers and I am thinking about backing up the actual share information on each server. They are all Raid 1 / 5 etc so this is a last resort plan.

All data is backed up to DLT every night so restoring the NTFS permissions is not a problem.

Apart from sitting down at each server and making manual notes on the existing shares and their associated permissions (on the share) is there another way ?? - a program that will list the shares on with folders and with what permissions would be helpful :)

Thanks for any advice.

Cheers,

P.

The SRVCHECK program from the Windows 2000 Resource Kit can do part of what you need. For a given server it will list the shares, the users/groups that have access to those shares, and the share permissions for each user/group. It will not show the physical path of the share though.
