Hi,

Can anyone advise some software that could do the following (or tell me if not possible).

We have 4 main servers (Different dell models/specs/RAID configs/OS). I would like to take a full copy of each servers image in the case that one of the servers suffers unrepairable hardware/software problems.

I would use this image (not really 100% on what an image is to be honest) to restore to a backup server.

Is there something out there that could facilitate in this or is it not that easy?

Ideally I would take an image each night but failing that just backup the important data files and then take an image every week/month.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
John

Look into Acronis True Image Echo server products. Combined with their Universal Restore, you will have a very good backup and restore package, including bare-metal restore for disaster recovery purposes.

Also look at Appassure's Replay server. Very nice backup to disk software that has bare-metal restores, instant dial-tone Exchange recovery, customizable data retention (default's to a month), high availability using VMWare as a failover solution. Check them out.

The RAID on the server could backup automatically, it's the best way to change the RAID, safest ....
