So I am planning on backing up my Norstar MICS KSU and have never done it before. Does anyone know of a detailed tutorial? I have heard that sometimes on these older units the backup might fail so I wanted to create a couple lol.

Well, click Backup and Restore, choose file....done.

Haha well maybe I left out an important part... I do not have a RAD. So the only way I can configure anything on the PBX is through the phones. I heard you can somehow perform a backup through the phones but I do not know how that would work or if it is accurate info. Thank you for any advice.

OK than ks for the info! I figured we might need a fast RAD at least. So after the back up and restore, I would use norstar remote utilities software to connect to the fast RAD to configure PBX?

Honestly I dont know and I have researched on how to find out but cant find any way to find out what version. I used the phone to try and find it but could only find the SYSID. and System version of 30BHG06

Ok it looks like its MICS 5.0 USA XC

Someoone once asked me how to backup an older unit like that without having a computer and RAD connected.

I pointed out the paper programming sheets in the back of the old manuals was the approved configuration "backup" method.
